What is Glue & Brew?

Glue & Brew was inspired by the idea of a cozy crafting session with a warm drink in hand. We host junk journaling and crafting meetups where you can show up, make something, and enjoy good company. Whether you're brand new to crafting or have been at it for years, there's a spot for you here.

What is junk journaling?

Junk journaling is a creative practice of making and filling handmade or altered journals using recycled and mixed materials like scrapbooking papers, ephemera, stickers, old book pages, packaging, and anything else that sparks something for you. The beauty of it is that there are no rules. You do what makes sense for you and your pages.

Do I need to be experienced to come?

Not at all. Glue & Brew is genuinely for all skill levels. If you're brand new, we're happy to talk you through things and show you the ropes. If you've been crafting for years, come get your pages done in good company.

I'm not very creative. Is this still for me?

Yes. One of the things we believe most at Glue & Brew is that creativity isn't a prerequisite. Junk journaling has no rules, no wrong answers, and no pressure to make something that looks a certain way. You're given full permission to play.

Can kids come?

Kids are welcome! We find this event is best suited for children 10 and up. Any child attending must be accompanied by a ticket holder over the age of 16, and will need their own ticket.

What's the difference between the Community Meetup and the Club Meetup?

The Community Meetup is our casual drop-in tier. You get a drink, a special event sticker, and access to a communal stash of supplies to pull from. The Club Meetup is the elevated experience. In addition to a drink and a treat, Club members receive a fully stocked scrap pack valued at over $60, participate in the sticker swap, get an extra hour of crafting time and the occasional surprise!

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a journal, a glue stick, scissors, and any supplies you'd like to work with. Club Meetup members will have a fully stocked scrap pack waiting for them, so additional supplies are optional, but most members bring their own things too because it's half the fun. If you're participating in the sticker swap, bring any sticker sheets you're ready to pass on.

What supplies are available at the event?

Community Meetup attendees have access to a communal stash of supplies they're welcome to pull from and use during the event. Club Meetup members receive their own fully stocked scrap pack for the evening + can access the communal stash.

What's included in the Club scrap pack?

Each scrap pack is fully stocked with everything you need to create a spread, including a 24 page booklet full of scrapbooking papers and ephemera to cut out, plus stickers, and other stationery and decorative bits and bobs. The exact contents vary by theme each month.

What is the sticker swap, and how does it work?

The sticker swap is a Club Meetup exclusive. Bring any sticker sheets you're no longer feeling, set them on the swap table, and pick up something new. It's a great way to pass along what isn't your style and find something that is.

Do I need to buy a ticket in advance, or can I pay at the door?

Tickets must be purchased in advance through our website. This helps us keep track of capacity and makes check-in at the door a lot smoother for everyone.

What happens if the event sells out?

Once all spots are filled, registration closes. If a spot opens up due to a cancellation, we'll announce it. If you'd like to be added to the waitlist, reach out using the contact form on our website and we'll make note and offer you a spot before it goes public.

Where is the event held, and is there parking?

Glue & Brew is hosted at JTM Cake Studio & Café in Cambridge. The on-site parking lot is small, but there are plenty of spots nearby that are a short walk from the venue.

What is your refund policy?

We get it, sometimes things come up. If you need to cancel, please reach out using the contact form on our website at least seven days before the event and we'll do our best to fill your spot and process a refund. Requests made inside the seven-day window will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Glue & Brew Mail Club

What is the Mail Club?

The Mail Club is Glue & Brew's monthly flat mail subscription for crafters who aren't local to the Cambridge area. Each month, subscribers receive a themed scrap pack delivered right to their door, so you can bring a little bit of the Glue & Brew experience to your own crafting space.

Is the Mail Club kit the same as what Club Meetup attendees receive? T

The scrap pack itself is the same. In-person Club Meetup attendees may receive a few additional physical extras on the night, like trinkets and charms, that aren't included in the mail version due to shipping constraints, but the scrap pack at the heart of it is identical.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up directly through our website. The first run is capped, so grab a spot early if you're interested.

Where do you ship, and how much does shipping cost?

We currently ship within Canada only. Shipping is included in the price of your subscription. Mail Club ships via Canada Post lettermail, which means there's no tracking on your package. Delivery takes approximately 3 to 28 business days once it's in the mail. Once your pack leaves our hands, it's in Canada Post's.

When will my kit ship?

Subscriptions ship after the 26th of each month. To receive that month's scrap pack, your order must be placed by the 26th. Orders placed from the 27th onward will receive the following month's scrap pack instead. Packages typically go out in the first part of the following month.
